Sync the App with Samsung Healthkit

5 minutes

Once you are inside the App, the first thing you may want to do is start tracking your steps.

You have 2 options to do this.

Option A: If you already have a wearable device that is compatible with the hub (ie. Misfit, Fitbit, Garmin brands), then it is preferable that you track your steps with that, as it is presumably being carried on your person at all times. You can sync your wearable device with the hub here on the web now.

Option B: If you don't have a wearable device or your wearable device is not compatible with the hub, then no worries! Your smartphone can track your steps instead whenever you are carrying it on your person. Please read the step-by-step instructions below to learn how to sync the App with Samsung Health (SHealth).

Step 1: Assuming you have already downloaded the App to your Android smartphone, start with the app homepage dashboard.

Step 2: Press the icon with the 3 horizontal lines in the top left-hand corner of your screen. This will open up a drop-down menu, as seen below.

Step 3: You will land on a page listing various devices that the App can sync with to automatically track your steps.

In these instructions, you will learn how to sync with the first device on the list: Samsung Health, choose CONNECT TO SAMSUNG HEALTH button.

Step 4: You will land on a screen titled 'Connect to Samsung Health'. Press the CONNECT button to continue.

Step 5: A pop-up dialogue box will appear with a list of different options. Switch on and off which types of data you would like to sync with the App.

Note that you will need to at least switch on 'Daily step count trend'. The other types of data are completely up to you.

Once you have decided which data streams to switch on and off, press 'DONE'.

Step 6: After pressing 'DONE', you will then land on this screen titled 'Your connected device'. This screen confirms that the App has successfully synced with Samsung Health and is automatically tracking your steps.

Note: If you ever decide that you would no longer like to sync Samsung Health with your App, simply press the 'Disconnect' button on this 'Your connected device' screen.

When the dialogue box pops asking if you are sure you want to disconnect this device, press 'Yes'.

You will be returned to the original 'Connect your device' page, with a list of the various devices that are compatible to sync with the  App.

Congratulations!

All steps taken while carrying your smartphone on your person are being tracked automatically by the App.
