Nourishing Little Minds is a fantastic 4-week program where children have ‘story time’ at Libraries ACT followed by a food preparation activity with the team from Nutrition Australia ACT. It’s great for children aged 0-5 to try new healthy foods in a supportive environment.
Although the program has been put on hold due to COVID-19, Leanne Elliston from Nutrition Australia ACT says they “still have lots to share and have created a Nourishing Little Minds Facebook group.” She says the closed group was created “especially for parents and carers of children aged 0-5 years” where they can “pick up tips and share ideas on how to have positive food experiences with their children.”
Nourishing Little Minds is a community-based initiative supported through ACT Health, Healthy Canberra Grants.

Meet & Move is an ACT-based program which combines the social and play elements of a playgroup with movement for mums. Created in response to feedback from parents, Meet & Move helps you to increase your family’s physical activity together.
To help improve your family’s health and wellbeing, the Meet & Move program delivers 4 free physical activity sessions each week and several ‘Grab n Go – Healthy Eating for Active Kids’ workshops each year.
We understand that raising kids requires flexibility. There’s no need to book or attend every week. We welcome all mums with children aged birth to 5 years, and all fitness levels.
